Takealot.com violation of consumer rights

I have purchased a few bottles of Paul John whiskey on the Takealot app. This whiskey was on promotion hence I took advantage of the opportunity.

I received delivery of my first order on Monday 17 October 2022. I opened the box only to discover that I received 500ml aQuelle strawberry flavored sparkling water bottles which was individually wrapped in bubble wrap with a labelled description: Paul John Nirvana Single Malk Goa India-750ml on each bottle.

I contacted Takealot via Facebook messenger and was advised to log a return on the app. I done this and specified that I would like to return the product received for delivery of the product I ordered, as advertised on Takealot. I received a reply saying that they no longer have stock of Paul John Whiskey. I went onto the app where I saw this whiskey still being available on Takealot and sent a screenshot of this product to Takealot. I received a reply from Takealot stating that this stock is supp**** by a different company, with a different price and I am welcome to use my credit to purchase.

My concern is the following; 1. I use Takealot for convenience and ease when purchasing products instead of dealing directly with a supplier. When purchasing on Takealot I do not check who the supplier is, instead I deal with Takealot and inform people that I purchased a product on Takealot. 2. I have been ****med into purchasing products which was not available. If I purchase products from a retail store (already paid for), I get a rain check, meaning that the retail store takes accountability for advertising a product as being available and ensures that I as a customer, I receive what I have paid for even if this means that the company is at loss. My consumer rights have been violated in the following ways: #1. False advertising or bait marketing: Takealot advertised the product and allowed me to make purchase (usually if a product is out of stock then this is indicated on the Takealot app and the consumer cannot make purchase but only add to Wishlist). I had a total of 4 different orders which included this specific item as referred to in this review. #2 Any labels or packaging that may be misleading; The first delivery was the 500ml aQuelle strawberry sparkling water, labelled description: Paul John Nirvana Single Malt Goa India-750ml on each bottle. The second delivery was 500ml Valpre spring water bottles with a labelled description: Paul John Nirvana Single Malt Goa India-750ml on each bottle.

I have emailed Takealot pictures of the above consumer violations. I am waiting feedback from Takealot regarding an appropriate resolution.
