TAKEALOT.COM take no responsibility for loss caused due to crash on black friday

On Black Friday, I placed a watch (that I had been ages for) in my cart just after the sale commenced. Thereafter, the site crashed, and despite numerous attempts to log back onto the site and pay, I was unable to successfully complete this transaction. Due to the system failure, when I was eventually able to log on and try to make payment, it informed me that there was no further stock (despite the site still indicating 3 items left, I have screenshots), and thus the price had changed to the higher regular price. I have raised this matter with a number of individuals on the customer care side, but continue to receive an automated response, which reads basically, tough luck. There is still stock as the item continues to be sold, no other alternative or suggestive resolution has even been entered into or made. I received 1 response that they apologise for the inconvenience and they are looking into the matter, but to date no response.

The fault lay solely with TAKEALOT.COM, their system and their inability to maintain a stable system that I could pay for an item, I followed protocol and placed in my cart. TAKEALOT.COM have a mission statement which reads: "OUR SMILE GUARANTEE, we're only happy when you are"... I'm not happy.

TAKEALOT.COM I understand your T&C's policy regarding payment, however it does not have a clause which accounts for system failure on your part.

I respectfully request the item I requested or at the very least a reasonable equivalent.
