takealot.com supplier cancellation

On 16 May 2020 i place an order which was suppose to be delivered on 1 June 2020, but i received it on 27 May 2020.

The order was incomplete and i immediately checked my order status to find the wifi extender i ordered was cancelled. Upon which i check my emails and found a notification of the cancellation.

The excuse given is that the supplier doesn't have stock, which i find strange as the Supplier is selling the same item at a higher price.

Im just wondering if it is common practice for takealot.com to allow their suppliers to operate in his manner.

It would be more believable if the supplier wasnt selling the item anymore
