TAKEALOT.COM sells counterfeit medicine
Hey guys, a huge warning!!!! I purchased a medicinal product from Takealot.com. I've attached the mail that I've sent to Takealot.com, and till this day I've received no response worth mentioning. It is scary how they play with peoples lives by selling counterfeit supplements and medicines. BE WARNED. Their customer service is even worse than the quality control they (Don't) do. I have removed the "manufacturers" details because the Director called me personally with exceptional professionalism, and is relentless with their service and investigations following this incident. I Feel Takealot.com needs to be exposed. Needless to say, they won't see a penny from me ever again, in actual fact, I'm planning to take this to the courts, which Im confident is going to cost them alot more than the R479 refund i requested. Please see my email to give you a better understanding:
"Hi there.
I am terribly disappointed at what has recently occurred, I'm hoping you can assist and more importantly prevent this from ever happening to any of your supporters ever again. I believe in your product and the efficacy thereof but also that your South African is awesome, hence the genuine concern for your brand.
I have used your product (the same product) on 2 previous occasions (160 Capsules in total) bought from a supplement store in Stellenbosch on first occasion and from DisChem on the 2nd, both brilliant products/results. The third time I purchased the product from Takealot.com. From the get go, everything seemed off... the label was warped, the bottle wasn't really sealed properly and the box seemed a little different (at first I thought it might be older stock). I continued to consume 2 capsules as per your directions and the results were horrifying to say the least. The effects were so undesirable that I was almost fainting, vomiting profusely and felt like I was dying.
I immediately requested a refund and return/investigation of the product. Takealot picked the product up and declined my refund, (which properly ****ed me off) after which I called them to escalate the matter, when they told me to contact the manufacturer directly (****ing me off even further). The matter/case with Takealot is an ongoing one, but I do feel the need to bring this to your attention, as your Brand name is on this product, whether it's legitimate or not is a huge question mark.
After consulting my brother (whom is a medical practitioner) and doing some research/investigating myself as a seasoned lawyer, we believe that the next step would be a serious lawsuit against all responsible parties. This is however very undesirable, but when people place my life or health at risk then I take it extremely seriously and will ensure that those responsible are brought to book. The funny thing is, all I wanted was my money back...and regardless of the severity of this situation, I was essentially laughed at.
I want you to understand that this is in no uncertain terms a threat or slandering, but I will make it my life mission to ensure this matter is dealt with fairly.
I need to know urgently what the steps are that you as a manufacturer will follow to make this happen, and I will need that response before the close of business on the 12 November 2020. If not, full and irreversible legal action will be taken as mentioned before.
I hope you can assist in this matter so we can solve this issue.
Kind regards,
Chris Higgs"
Once again, the severity has been communicated to Takealot.com and I have received nothing but generic emails all coming from different customer service consultants. Absolutely no integrity whatsoever.
