Takealot.com selling us used items at original price

Remind me never to ever buy from Takealot.com ever again. Purchased a Smeg blender in January. Parcel got delivered in it's original box no secure packaging at all which makes me wonder if the item was even new. To my disappointment only discovered recently when I wanted to use it that the measuring cup which the blender can't work without as it forms part of the lid was missing. Now I can't get this very expensive blender replaced because it is has elapsed the 7 days period for returns.
