Takealot.com - Questionable after sales service

We purchased a Hisense 8kg Tumble dryer through Takealot.com for a luxury guest house in Dullstroom. After a month the machine started vibrating and progressively got worse.

We contacted Takealot.com who said this is not their responsibility, referred us to Hisense - by the way the machine at this point is still under warranty. The machine was collected by an appointed Service Technician - Bargain Electrical Appliances "Solly" *** based @ No4 Gedenklaan, Bethal, Mpumalanga 2310. It took a month and repeated telephone calls to get the machine back. Their admin is in absolute chaos!!!

The machine was returned late one afternoon. We pugged it in to see if the vibration was gone - it was. But the next morning while moving the machine into position in better light we disc covered how bad a state the machine really was in!!! It looked like it had been used to clean a factory carpet. Scratched, dented, drum damaged, carpet lint stuck to drum, filter filled with sand, pieces of metal, plastic bits, polystyrene pieces, filter mesh covered in oil. Certainly not the lint of percale cotton or Egyptian cotton linen, that is all that had ever been in the machine!!!

We immediately contacted Hisense SA to report the situation and service. It has been almost 3 months and after numerous telephone calls to the service center who said they would escalate it and emails to the complaints department, to date we have had no response with regards to our tumble dryer!!!

NB: Highly advise - do not buy any Hisense appliances in South Africa!!!!

NB: Highly advise - Do some research on who will take responsibility when buying appliances and anything that might break or need maintenance, when buying anything from Takealot.com or at least understand you are on your own when something goes wrong!! This is not the case when buying appliances from companies like Hircsh's or Ismail's Furnishers who both directly deal with faulty appliances sold by themselves.
