Takealot.com loses my phone and apparantly it's my fault...
I bought the new Samsung S9 plus from takealot.com in August of this year. The price was great and I have bought stuff from takealot.com in the past with no hiccups, so I thought nothing of it.
This time around the delivery went missing and they say their delivery vehicle was ******. Eventually after another week of waiting I received my phone.
About 1 week ago the phone switched off out of the blue and I couldn't switch it back on again, it was defective. I logged a return and asked for the phone to be replaced as it was within the 6 month warranty that Takealot.com offers. Takealot.com collected the phone on Tuesday the 27th November. I showed the delivery guy the phone inside the box and he took a photo. I then received an sms to say they have collected the phone and will contact me in 2-3 days once it reaches their warehouse.
This is where the story gets juicy...
I received an email on Friday basically saying I sent them an empty box and then threatened me by saying if I do not respond within 3 days they would close the return. Why would I send them an empty box... I called takelot.com on Friday, Saturday and Monday. I have spoken to Thandokazi Ntshinga and Papama Nyati both assuring me that they would investigate and contact me back, even giving me times. TO DATE I HAVE RECEIVED NO PHONE CALLS...My email address has changed since then and I have explained this to them 100 times... and given them my new email... the only thing they email me, is to tell me they are looking into it and they will call me back (which they never do)... GREAT SERVICE... NOT....
I have to constantly call and find out what has happened to my R15000-00 phone... they simply just brush this off...
I am just going around in circles here... who has my phone...? I am going to the police station later today to lay a charge of theft against Takealot.com so that an investigation can start.
On top of that... I am blocked out my account as of yesterday, so I can't even track the progress... Not that this works...
I need my phone for business and for every day I do not have my phone, I will be invoicing takealot.com... for lost revenue
Just get me a new phone... THIS IS CRAZY
