Takealot.com Aftercare and Customer Service Sucks!

Further to an order placed on Takealot.com 29 November 2019...

I requested for an item to be exchanged for another color before the package was shipped, but was informed due to the nature of Takealot's processes, it can't be done, and I had to wait for the order to be delivered and then request a return/exchange…

This was really frustrating as there was sufficient time for the order to be changed before delivery. This resulted in unnecessary admin and waste of time to through delivery, log a return/exchange, have the item collected, inspected by the warehouse, exchange processed and item delivered.

Now, although a waste of time, if it just happened that way I wouldn't be as upset as I am now…

Since item was collected, it’s been 7 days where nothing happened!

After numerous calls to support during the 7 days, I was eventually given a status update that I needed to wait 14 days for delivery of the item as it’s out of stock!

I explicitly phoned Takealot support after logging the exchange to inform them to please secure the item before it goes out of stock - but obviously didn't happen.

To make matters worse, when I initially requested for the item to be exchanged, the support consultant informed me that it would be possible to deliver the exchanged item at the same time as collecting the returned item and this will be arranged as soon as I log the return.

I’m disappointed in the overall aftercare service received…

A company’s true service is not rated from the point of processing an order and delivery thereof - that’s standard and expected within the nature of the business - but true service is evident in the aftercare or service a customer receives in the event of a dispute or return/exchange of an item…

And this is where Takealot really sucked to be totally honest and upfront.

This was the first time I ordered from Takealot and the last!

Furthermore, I’d never endorse Takealot to any friends or family – not even an enemy.

My advice; think twice before ordering from takealot.com
