Takealot will not refund defective Venturer 2-in-1 laptop when they mess up

I purchased a Venturer 2-in-1 laptop from Takealot last year, which would not switch on in December last year, so I returned it to Takealot for a refund. However, when they sent it to their IT department, it switched on immedately. They returned it to me but did not cancel the "return of goods" on their system. Almost all the time, the laptop is stationery on a desk, but a fortnight ago, when I disconnected the power and tried to use it as a movable iPad, it apparently would not switch on again. I took it back to a Takealot depot to show the problem to someone and while at 'Retuns', established that there was a loose connection inside the laptop which sometimes made the screen switch on while other movement made it disconnect.

However, I could not log a return because someone at Takealot had not 'reinstated' my purchase. A "customer care" consutant last week said she would discuss this with a manager and contact me within an hour or two. That was 5 days ago and I am still waiting...

Takealot is efficient for normal transactions, but when things go wrong - particularly when they cause the mess up - it is worse than dealing with a government department.

And as for the product supplier Venturer, they give no support (no user manual), promise free Windows Office with their product (but it is a Trial version, for which ine needs to pay once the trial period is over) and are cleartly happy to sell defective products.
