Takealot - useless search engine and ************* EFT options
Great store, and I buy from them frequently, but 2 major flaws: 1) In my book Takealot has the most useless search engine on the planet. "office chair" gets you some nice hits of A4 paper, printer cartridges, etc. Most search engines get finer (lower number more specific hits) as you increase, and is therefore more specific with-, the search terms. Takealot's work just the opposite - the more search terms, the more - and more useless - the hits. 2) Takealot, as does several online shops, forces you to reveal your bank login details to third party service providers if you need to pay by EFT. There is no option to bypass these 3rd parties and just make a straight EFT from your bank. All banks denote these third parties as ************* and urge users not to make use of them. That is really low of Takealot to force that upon (mostly unsuspecting) shoppers not even knowing they are revealing their bank login details to another online platform where it can be breached. Your bank has an accountability and responsibility to look after your money, by contract, as you are its customer, but these 3rd parties have no such accountability. So if Payfast gets hacked or an amployee uses your details, they will most likely just say "sorry, but we can't be held responsible".
