Takealot ********* Returns policy

I ordered a Canon printer which upon receiving it, unwrapped it and tried it out. It was completely inefficient and not easy to use as the reviews had suggested. I packed it into the box making sure that all the components were included. I returned it the first time and was told that the return had been refused because I had opened the product and inserted the ink cartilages. The printer was returned to me. How else was I supposed to know whether the printer worked properly according to my requirements if I had not tried it out? I did communicate this to them and they told me to return it selecting a different option for the reason of return: “not what I ordered”. I did this and again the return was refused. It is exasperating and frustrating to buy a product which you are not happy with and be unable to return it. Very ********* business oractice
