Takealot turned my husbands birthday present into a nightmare

March 2016: Ordered a Fitbit from Takelalot. Received in working condicition.

December 2016: Fitbit stopped working - would charge it fully and within a few hours it would be dead.

Beginning of Decemebr 2016: Phoned Takealot to inform them of the issue and that I don't have the packaging anymore. They advised me that I could return it without the packaging for them to analyse. I therefore processed the return and included a note regarding the packaging and conversation with the support team)

19 December 2016: Received an email from Takealot:

"Thank you! The following return product has been received at the warehouse:
1 x Fitbit Charge HR - Black Large

Our inspection process will be complete within 1 to 3 business days after which we will provide you with feedback on the outcome of your return. Refunds might take 1-2 business days to reflect in your account, and that all replacements are subject to availability."

23 December: Hadn't heard anything (3 BUSINESS DAYS HAD PASSED), so sent a follow up email.

27 December: Was responded to and asked for the packaging (even though in my return I included a not about the packaging)

27 December: Responded to tell them AGAIN that I didn't have the packaging.

1 January 2017: Followed up as hadn't heard anything back from them.

4 January 2017: Followed up AGAIN.

6 January: Got a reponse to say they would follow up with the courier????????????? (What on earth?)

6 January: Phoned customer service - told me they'd escalate it and get back to me in 24 hours....

9 Janaury: Followed up AGAIN as 24 hours came and went and still NOTHING

10 January: Followed up AGAIN via email twice. Followed up with a phone call later in the day...guy said: I will escalate and send you an email to confirm. NO EMAIL EVER RECEIVED. NO FEEDBACK EVER RECEIVED.

11 January: Resorted to Facebook...told me they'd escalate. Wait for this now....THEY ASKED ME FOR THE PACKAGING AGAIN.

I HAVE LOST HOPE.
