Takealot, Take Alot and give no customer satisfaction.

My wife relocated for work to Gauteng this week passed. She ordered a Refrigerator and washing machine from takealot.

The products were delivered to the flat on Tuesday afternoon. We were told not to switch on for at least 2 hours so we left it overnight at the flat because we weren't staying there due to beds not having been delivered as yet.

We returned the next day and installed the appliances and found the fridge light not working and a frost free fridge frosting up.

We reported it to takealot And requested an exchange due to having received the fridge a few hours earlier

We are now being told that we need to deal with the manufacturer. Why?;

It's brand new and was received defective. Shouldn't Takealot swap it and deal with their supplier!?

Please tell me what is going on.
