TAKEALOT / SUPERSONIC ****
Dealing with Takealot can be one way street, be careful, don't be fooled by the friendly JennydeRuiter ads. Bought and OMEGA 2000 generator from in June 22. It worked well, was happy customer, until it just stopped charging. Called Takealot, who referred me to the agents for repairs since it exceeded its warrantee window. SUPERSONIC STORE was helpful at 1st, a friendly gentleman B was surprised that the generator lasted a year, he says they normally only worked a few times before the inverter burns out. He said they can't repair them but was willing to send me a repaired one within the next few days.
However, I was then contacted by Helga, who said she needs a week to sort me out. 2 Weeks later after getting persistent, she finally said they can't help me except sell me an inferior product at cost (which was obviously not cost), and she can't guarantee that I won't have the same problem again. So, they are selling these products through Takealot knowing they can't provide after sales service.
Back to takealot, great was my disappointment when I realized that I can't speak to anyone at Takealot, nor can I lodge a complaint or alert Takealot about their supplier who does not provide aftersales service. The national call center number cuts you off after a minute, tried about 20 times over 2 days. I went to the head office in CT, only to be shown the door by security. Then tried to write a review, only to learn that I can't write one as my purchase is older than 3 months.
Bottomline, if you buy something from takealot coming from a shady importer, you have no recourse if your problem arises 3 months after the purchase. I have no problem with the reality that products break down, what I find unacceptable is that I can't have it repaired and there are no communication lines to Takealot senior management. The result is TAKEALOT continues to sell OMEGA 2000 generators, and SUPERSONIC continues to sell generators through a new brand name from the TAKEALOT platform, and you as a consumer has no recourse.
