Takealot sucks big time
I've bought from this supplier in the past and actually thought they were not too bad. However, my last experience with them has been atrocious, to say the least. Some eight or nine months ago I bought a wireless keyboard/mouse combination. The product has the Dell logo on it, which I know to be a good brand, hence my decision to order the product. It was delivered shortly afterwards and worked well, except that the keyboard doesn't have any indication for NUMlock or CAPSlock, which was a bit of a disappointment. My wife and I spent a few months with our children in Texas and returned end october. While there, I noticed the mouse movement, especially scrolling, to be erratic. It would scroll up when selecting down and vice versa. Sometimes it wouldn't scroll at all. On 28 november I requested takealot to collect the product and have it checked, since it has a 12-month warranty. It was collected the following day, only to lie in the warehouse for a week, maybe longer, before being shipped to the supplier. After throwing my toys out of my cot, I was informed that the product will be replaced and the replacement needs to be collected from the supplier, whoever they may be. This morning I received e-mail, informing me that the supplier has closed down for the silly season, reopens on 6 january and only then will an effort be made to collect the replacement and deliver it to me - probably another two weeks after that! This is certainly the last time I will make use of takealot, as other online suppliers have proved to be more efficient. Being an Amzon Prime client has its advantages and they will move up the ranks of preferred suppliers.
