TAKEALOT SLIGHT PF HAND
Today I tried to buy a cell phone on line. The one I wanted was priced at R16** but when I went to check out I needed to sign in but Takealot would not accept my log-in details saying the username and/or the password were incorrect despite the fact that they were both 100% correct. After making several attempts I resorted to the "Forgotten my password" option. Their reply was that they would send a email to my registered email address (the one they were refusing at the check-in process). NO SUCH EMAIL ARRIVED. About ten minutes later I went on line again and within that time period Takealot had INCREASED the price to R1799 and surprise, surprise they now accepted my ORIGINAL sign-in details which were obvious always correct. It appears that they make it impossible for you to sign-in if you try to buy an item that it due to be increased in price that day. Takealot, I have found to always be ethically correct in all the dealings I have had with them over the passed 15+ years and although I have now ordered the phone at the new price I shall think very carefully about dealing with them in the future.
