Takealot sells product with false product description and ignores customers
I bought an e-book, Piekfyn Afrikaans Graad 8 Leerderboek, on the 18th of February based on the product description of it being printable, with one copy allowed. Imagine my surprise when the book was downloaded and printing was prohibited. I contacted the customer service department requesting either a refund, or changing the settings to allow me to print my one copy. I was told that the e-book was protected, I was not allowed to download it, printing was ******* and that it was non-refundable. I don't know how you are supposed to read an e-book on any device if you can't download it. And in fact, I was able to download it! I attached a screenshot of the product description and that was the last I heard from them. Ironically enough, they asked me to rate their service and also wanted to know if my problem had been solved. I responded to both e-mails in the negative, but it seems that it is an automated form sent out and that responses are not monitored. What's the use then? I subsequently reviewed the product to warn other prospective buyers that the product information was false, but my review was not published. The kicker is that the product information has not been changed at all, and still states that one copy of the book may be printed. I am astounded that such a large enterprise can treat customers with absolute disregard and continue with dishonest and misleading business practises.
