Takealot ripping me off

I bought a faucet tap only to realize it is not compatable with the plumbing in my house. I returned it only for them to decline my return. The box it came in was dented when they delivered. They did not take pictures on delivery. When they collected it they took pictures and now decline my return because the box was open. How was I to see if the tap is compatable without opening the box. I am had bought the tap for my old house that's why I bought again but the service I am receiving now is just not on.
