Takealot returns is pathetic!
I purchased a Blackview Tab 16 on Sunday 19 May 2024, which claims to have this in its punch line "Watching movies, working from home? The Blackview Tab 16 is the perfect companion for you. With its Full HD+ Display, 8GB RAM, 256GB ROM storage, and massive 7680mAh battery, the Tab 16 will tackle any challenge given to it!"
I get the tablet on Friday 24 May 2024, I switch it on thinking I am getting this amazing deal because it comes with a cover, screen protector and backup screen protector, and to my disappointment the tablet is NOT full HD. When you look at an image its extremely pixilated and blurry that even the icons are NOT clear. So I log a return, it gets collected and some arrogant technician sends me an email last night telling me there are missing items, when I know for a FACT that I left everything in the box (because my disappointment was so high) and that my request has been declined for the refund/return. To top it off he sends me blurry pictures, that even through those blurry pictures I can see the items in the box as is. All I want is my money back, I am not going to let this slide. The Consumer Act states, "A consumer may examine goods before s/he pays." In this case I could not examine, I had to wait for it to arrive, furthermore it states "The representation or marketing of goods or services may not be misleading or false. If the goods bought from a supplier are defective (not suitable for its usual purpose or for the purpose it was bought, of poor quality and bad working order, or not useable or durable), a consumer has 6 months from the date of delivery to return the goods to the supplier, at the supplier’s risk and expense. At the consumer’s choice, the supplier must fix, replace or refund the goods bought by the consumer."
It wasn't even 30 days, I logged the return on Sunday 26th of May and they collected on Monday the 27th of May. I want my money back! I can't pay for something that is not what it claims to be!! Who would be happy with that? NO ONE!!! And how are we supposed to know if tablets and phones are the quality they claim to be if we don't open it??? Must we do this telepathically? I am so ****ed off with takealot, I don't know if I will ever buy anything electronic from them again.
If there is fine print on returns for tablets, phones, etc, then put it where us consumers can see it, cause I took the risk to buy it, now they must take the risk and return my money because I am NOT happy at all!!!
