TakeAlot Return Policy
After purchasing a Xbox one at TakeAlot on ‘give the date of collection’, it is now two months later and the device is giving an ‘unreadable disk’ error. I logged a ‘return defective item request’ on TakeAlot site and it verified that the device can be returned to Montaque Gardens DC Cape Town. On my arrival at the TakeAlot DC the 1st September 2018, the returns agent told me that they do not take in Xbox's in for warrantee claims. I should log a warranty request with Microsoft. This is unacceptable because TakeAlot has a 6 month return policy and I bought the device from them! The returns workflow does not stipulate that the client should log the warranty claim with the ‘brand’ (Microsoft). TakeAlot DC refused to replace or repair the console on my behalf and a refund was out of the question. This is pathetic service from TakeAlot because I am their client and not Microsoft’s but they do not want to take responsibility for selling me a faulty product. Their returns policy/workflow is non sensical. Although it states that they have a 6 month return policy I can’t return my 2 month only device. So now I am stuck with a faulty unit and I don't understand why TakeAlot can't log the warranty claim on my behalf.
