takealot refusing return due to disposable items not sent back along with R4999 machine

I am so disappointed by the level of service Takealot has offered in the last 2 weeks. I ordered a Cricut machine (R4999) with a 12-month warranty in October 2021. I was super impressed with my machine, but then at the beginning of January, my machine stopped working in the middle of a project, being a power issue. I contacted Takealot (since I am still in my warranty period) and requested a return. Just to add some background the machine comes with a pen (with ink - which I used), cardstock (cardboard used as practice material when starting to get to know the machine). Takealot ended up rejecting my return request due to these items mentioned above were not sent back along with the machine. THEY ARE DISPOSABLE ITEMS! multiple emails and calls later I have not received any valid feedback or when my machine will be returned.
