Takealot Refusing Refund for 12,000 BTU Unit Not Fit for Purpose

I am formally disputing the rejected return of my 12,000 BTU air conditioner under MRRN-M7BQG-5QDB. Under Section 55 of the Consumer Protection Act, I am entitled to goods that are reasonably suitable for their intended purpose. A 12,000 BTU rating carries a technical expectation to cool a space of 20m² to 28m². My room is 22.5m², yet the unit fundamentally fails to lower the temperature to a functional level. It is not fit for purpose. I have remained a loyal customer to Takealot even with Amazon now operating in South Africa, yet I am being treated with complete disregard. Your internal "evaluation" does not override my statutory rights under Section 56, which allows the consumer to choose a full refund for goods that do not perform as intended. I am refusing the return delivery and will not accept the unit back. Process my refund immediately or I will escalate this to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) and the National Consumer Commission. I will not be forced to keep a non-performing product.
