Takealot refuses to refund a defective product
Bought a laptop from Takealot, which is defective. On the app it was deemed eligible for a return, but then it was declined upon arriving at the warehouse. They keep hiding behind a policy/agreement they have with Dell, where returns have to be processed directly through Dell. Dell customer support seems completely unaware of this agreement, as they can’t seem to help anyone who purchased from a 3rd party. So Takealot blames Dell, and Dell pretends the sale doesn’t exist. Meanwhile I’m still out of pocket, plus Takealot still has the defective laptop in their possession! My emails are either ignored, or they are answered with generic responses with excerpts of their fairy-tale agreement with Dell. You sold the product, my contract is with you! I never agreed to any Dell policy. You are the ones in breach of our buyer’s agreement, seeing as you have the product as well as the money. In my last email I requested that the matter be escalated to a supervisor - no response. I have been a takealot customer for many years, but I am done with your ********* ways and careless attitude toward your customers. What you are doing is plain and simple THEFT. Refund my money, sort out your issues with Dell on your own time, and stop passing the buck to the detriment of your customers!
