Takealot refund policy a **** !
Bought a smart TV from Takealot for just short of R4000.00. When the delivery was done, the driver drove (in a private vehicle) opel corsa with boxes literally falling all around him. To get to my delivery he had to literally unpack the car with boxes falling out. I cautioned him that my product is a TV and it should have been handled with care. I refused to sign for the delivery explaining to him that I am not happy with the delivery. The TV was a fathers day gift. Installing it the evening before fathers day, when switched on it showed a defect as if the LCD/ led screen was damaged. I immediately reported it to Takealot and returned it on the Monday. They send me photos of the damage that I know about and claimed that there refund policy does not cover the type of damages. One they very cleverly don't make you attend on the specific when you buy an electronic product. The promise a 30 day return or refund policy but does not specifically list the exceptions. When you lock the return on the app it says the return is accepted....just to be then told that its not covered in the TC's. To date they have not given me a copy of the specific provisions, nor explained to me why they believe the damage was caused by myself. It seems it will be better not to buy electronic equipment from Takealot as their refund policy is selective.
