Takealot Quality

My son bought components to build a PC from Takealot. They delivered promptly but some of the items that he bought seem to be of poor quality. His Microlab ear phones, microphone and ear buds seem to be of very poor quality and are not longer working. This is 3 months after he bought this. To say that he is disappointed, is putting it mildly. Do we have any sort of recourse with this?
