Takealot product reviews are ****. It BLOCKS product reviews when Takealot don't 'like' it if you're honest.
Takealot blocks certain reviews and "**** it" as if it has been uploaded for others to view, when in actual fact it's never published. This does NOT instill trust and throws a serious shadow on Takealot's integrity!
I did 4 reviews in one day. Takealot approved a review where I stated "it feels like German quality", but takealot blocked 3 other reviews, one stating that the product is bad Chinese quality. So its OK to say it feels like German quality but it's unacceptable to state its a bad quality import and that Takealot's 3rd party supplier should up its game?? What is worse, is that Takealot try to make it "seem" like all the reviews were published, by listing it under your "product ratings", but then making it impossible to access your original review (they do not save a copy of your review if its not approved). The only way to verify if your review was approved or not, is to scroll through sometimes hundreds of reviews to try and see if your review was approved. How can Takealot do this? How are consumers supposed to trust your integrity and therefore trust that Takealot will honour the transaction when you act in such a sly, untransparent way? It begs the question, can one trust the reviews at ALL? And if so, what else is Takealot hiding from a prospective buyer?
I mean, in one of my POSITIVE reviews (which was blocked, even though I gave the product 5 stars), I warned that some of your 3rd party suppliers overprice things, since about 7 of Takealot's 3rd party suppliers stock the exact same torchlight but the price drastically differs, ranging from R 65 to R350. So why did Takealot block sound ethical consumer advice? Is it because it makes Takealot feel uncomfortable if a consumer states a price (which is NOT ****). If you do your research and look at the photo of the product, it is 100% the same product since it uses 100% the same photos which numerous of Takealot's other 3rd party suppliers also use. So why should a consumer fall victim to a scrupulous 3rd party supplier charging 500% more for the exact same product? Is it because Takealot's profit sharing from 3rd party sales would be reduced if a consumer is unknowingly overcharged for a product which he can find considerably cheaper from another 3rd party supplier on Takealot's site?
I lecture in marketing at a prestigious institution and examples of this becomes topics which I openly discuss with my students as "industry examples" to warn them of bad practices or exalt as beacons of light to follow.
I surely hope you would rectify your ways and start acting with integrity. I Loved Kalahari.net and support local rather than the foreign globals who enter SA simply to strip mine our local profits. So I do not want to end up posting it on Helopeter, but unfortunately it seems more and more that its the only way in which companies actually respond to customer complaints.
Seems its becoming a sad reality of going "remote" and losing the face of an actual person who you work with. No face, no responsibility and ownership of both the good and bad of a company's actions.
