Takealot Policy matters more than fixing their INCORRECTLY advertised product listings.

I have had great experiences until recently I've had a few orders cancelled after mistakes were made with listings and product titles on their side. Then I ordered a replacement laptop charger which was listed as being compatible with my Asus laptop. Upon receiving the charger, it was immediately apparent that it would not fit my Asus laptop without even having to open the bag. As this was over the festive season, I logged the return and was unable to drop it off. The return was cancelled. When I got back in the new year, some very helpful people assisted me with opening a new return for the item. I dropped it off and it was immediately rejected for being outside of the 30 days as stipulated in the returns policy. Takealot has since sent the product back opened and clearly not in the same state I returned it in (unopened).

Takealot are clearly not what they used to be and don't care to apply logic or discretion. I've since made my first purchase on Amazon.co.za and the experience was very impressive. You'd think Takealot would be doing their best to retain customers but if this is the service they give to long standing customers, I'll happily move my family and business' for whom I do purchases for to Amazon.

Takealot contacted me today to resolve this issue. Someone app**** logic to this case and agreed that it should still be eligible for return. I want to be clear that the gentleman who helped me the first time over the phone, and the gentleman that helped me today were both very helpful and professional. The issue seems to be where company policy, departmental procedure, and the customer interface. It's a pitty that a customer has to go to such lengths just to have their case properly looked at. So in summary, my faith has been restored, for now, although there is a clear need for discretion in the returns department.
