Takealot owe me a partial refund but want me to take a gift back and send the toy instead.

Takealot needs to sort out there processes. We purchased a toy online for 1399 rand, they decided to make an executive decision and send a similar product instead which is 799 on their site. This was a gift and was sent to them already. When i tried to get hold of takealot to request they refund the 500 rand odd difference i am told that i have to send the toy back to get any refund. The original toy is not available and the replacement is actually tolerable. So according to Takealot the only way i can get my partial refund is to send the toy back (a gift already sent to family) and then order the exact same toy again (as said the original one is not available) i find this a major cheek. I now am expected to inconvenience family a few weeks before christmas. I did not choose the substitute, now i must be inconvenienced and embarrassed by asking family ro send the gift back only to receive the exact same toy again a few days later. Surely it makes sense for me to just leave the toy at family and takealot deals with their supplier and arrange my refund it does not seem complicated to me. All this just before ppl go away for Christmas is just poor service.
