Takealot Order

I received an order from Takealot on the 19th June. The one item was a box of pasta called happy earth people, chickpea pasta. On the 24th August, I opened the pasta to cook with it, even though it was not expired, realized it was contaminated and something wrong with it as it has a worm/maggot. Takealot won’t assist or take responsibility and say that I should have checked it upon receiving it, however I believe that is not enforceable and no retailer requires you to open up sealed cupboard food after purchasing. You use a product when ready to do so. Should you find an issue the supplier or product should be responsible.
