Takealot of your money and deliver empty promises

Ordered items for a guaranteed same day delivery and it never arrived.

The items were shipped from Kempton Park according to the app at 12:34 and arrived at the depo at 17:25. Its 28 kilometres from the distribution centre to the depo, and according to maps it will take 37 minutes to get there. I will give the benefit of the doubt that the driver had to stop somewhere else to drop off items, but i know that this is not how Takealot work, as they have a truck for each depo.

Anyway, it took the driver almost 5 hours to get from point A to point B, and thus making it too late for a delivery the same day.

I expect a full refund of the delivery fee I paid for same day delivery, and a formal apology regarding this situation, as you are probably doing it to not just me as a customer, but hundreds of other customers as well. And they won't have the energy to fight you about this, but there is a right and a wrong, and Takealot are wrong in this regard.

If a delivery can't be made the same day, then I suggest taking away the option on the website/app, or getting your customer care to give us a phone call to tell us that the delivery will be delayed, or not happen at all. Telling your staff to send a generic copy paste email on a ticket is also unprofessional, as no effort was done with my ticket i submitted regarding this situation and to investigate it.
