Takealot not suitable for buying Christmas presents!!!!!

Ordered a dartboard beginning of December as Christmas gift for a family member. Upon opening the box on Christmas Day, we observed that the *****s in the hinges of the one dartboard cabinet door was torn out of the wood. We contacted Takealot to return the item and it was duly collected. The request to return the clearly damaged product was rejected on the grounds of the time limit: must be returned within 7 days of purchase. We approached Takealot and pointed out that Christmas gifts are not purchased 5 or 6 days before Christmas, but usually 2 to 3 weeks to ensure timeously delivery. Takealot advice is buy your gifts 5 days before Xmas and hope for timeous delivery. The message here is clear: Buy Christmas presents from Takealot at your peril if it is damaged and need to be returned!
