Takealot NOT honouring deals/False advertising
On the 19/11/2015 I purchased items that were advertised as \HOT"deals or items that were marked down as specials. I paid for all items online and received confirmation from the online notification. When I checked in on my order the following day I received a shock only to discover all my orders were cancelled with no notification from Takealot. I phoned the Takealot help line and the consultant explain that there was a system error and that they are sorry for the inconvenience. They advertised the items with incorrect prices so they removed it from their site. I feel this is unacceptable and that Takealot should honour their deals which they advertise."""

We apologise for the disappointment this situation has caused. An inadvertent error caused certain products from our camping and outdoor section to be shown as available and at an incorrect price. We are regrettably not able to fulfil orders that were placed for these items and therefore had to cancel them. The immediate and electronic nature of our business unfortunately allows for errors such as these to occur and we therefore make provision for this in our terms and condition.
This is by no means an excuse for the bad experience this has led to, but simply an explanation. We are compensating all affected customers for the disappointment caused. Our complaints team will be in touch with you shortly to assist with this matter further.
