Takealot? More Like Take Too Much Time and Trust

This site has gone downhill, and I’m done tolerating it. I found what seemed like a fantastic deal on a Focusrite audio interface—48% off, bringing it to R1,895. Deciding to trust Takealot over the Focusrite website because I’ve bought from them plenty of times before turned out to be a huge mistake.

I ordered the interface, but instead of receiving it, I get an iPhone 14 case. How is it even possible to mix up those two items? Are there no quality checks to ensure the correct items are sent out? Meanwhile, someone else likely received my package and is sitting with a product worth nearly R3,200 because, conveniently, right after this mix-up, the price jumped back to its original R3.2k.

This isn’t the first time, either. When I was building my PC, I ordered an MSI MAG X570S motherboard that was marked down to R2,000. After paying for it and seeing my order marked as completed, they canceled it days later, claiming they couldn’t fulfill the stock. Why list products if you can’t honor the price? That incident happened back in April, and I let it slide. Not this time.

It’s clear they either refuse to honor their displayed prices or are completely incapable of packing orders correctly, resulting in items being lost or misdelivered. This is beyond disappointing. Luckily, I still had my USB microphone to resume my voiceovers, but I’ll never rely on this site again.

Their return and refund process also drags on forever, creating unnecessary stress and frustration. As a customer, this is the last absolute last thing I expect or deserve from your site.
