Takealot misses promised delivery date for pre-ordered goods AGAIN!
<p>Almost exactly a year ago I wrote a review on Hellopeter regarding a pre-order from Takealot.com being delayed. I have since placed another pre-order with Takealot. I got the following sms from Takealot today, "Apologies for missing our promised delivery date. Your order is with our couriers & you will receive a call/sms to schedule final delivery. takealot.com". I cannot understand why it is so difficult for Takealot to honour their promises, especially when it comes to pre-orders. People like me who pre-order pay upfront, months in advance, specifically to get the product as soon as it is released. I have phoned Takealot twice today and neither time could I be given a delivery date. </p>
Clearly customer satisfaction is not a priority with Takealot. Not only has this review on Hellopeter been ignored, but so have my requests for feedback. The only communication that I have received regarding a delivery time and date has been an SMS (from Mr D, not even Takealot themselves) informing me that my pre-order package will only be delivered tomorrow before 5pm, effectively a day late. As this is the second time Takealot has managed to disappoint when it comes to service delivery, there is no point pre-ordering anything further from them. As it happens Loot.co.za not only has the next pre-order that I want (which I did have on my Takealot wishlist), but it’s also cheaper. Don’t waste your time on Takealot, there are many better options out there. I did my first order with Kalahari (now Takealot) in 2012, and this will be my last.
