Takealot Mafia - Buyers Beware - Buy from REAL shops

I bought a Casio digital watch for R498. Under 6 months the body of the watch cracked at the hole for the strap of the watch due to poor quality. I returned it for a Takealot.com voucher. They declined my refund due to 'user abuse' and claimed I hit the watch and cracked it.

I asked them to show me any impact marks on the watch or strap but was told to voetsek. The email they sent me with photos still had the watch tapped in the original packaging indicating they didn't even bother opening the package to inspect the watch properly.

Takealot.com then told me I can contact their supplier directly for a refund. This is just passing the buck while keeping my money.

I bought my Smart TV, headboard, exercise bike recently from Takealot.com. I have to date not even received my broken watch back.

This R498 return that I was blamed for has put me off Takealot.com for good.

Beware trusting this well advertised company with your purchases. Rather take the time and effort to purchase from a real shop or other trustworthy online platforms that can honour their warranty and not just show customers the middle finger.

Takealot.com you will be losing many more customers than the R498 watch that you blamed me for damaging yet could not provide a shred of proof of where or how this was my fault.
