Takealot loosing its shine

Misleading Black Friday Pricing & High Delivery Charges

I have always been a loyal Takealot customer and trusted them for all my online purchases, including big appliances. This is why I am very disappointed with my recent Black Friday experience.

A stove and hob combo was advertised under the Blue Dot promotion for R4,999, but when I added it to my cart, the price changed to R5,499. On top of this, there was a R250 surge delivery fee plus R75 delivery, bringing the total to R5,824.

Because of this, I checked other retailers and found the same item at Makro for R4,999 with free delivery. As a result, Takealot lost this sale.

I understand delivery policies and surge pricing, but the price difference between the advert and the cart is misleading and unacceptable. I hope Takealot will review these policies, as competition is tough and customers will go where they get the best deal.
