Takealot lies yet again

I purchased a Gizzu battery/inverter from Takealot in February this year. In March I was informed via email of a factory recall on the product and that it was a fire hazard. I reached out to takealot to arrange the swap, to exchange the current product with one that was not defective. I reached out a few more times and each time I was assured that takealot would call me to arrange collection, which never materialized.

Now I contacted them again and they tell me that the return period has lapsed. So Takealot is just leaving me with a fire hazard in my house that they sold to me and never bothered to switch out?

This is negligent service from takealot, literally trying to burn their customers to the ground, thinking it covers them from liability (it doesn't).
