Takealot lies about stock availability if the offered price was not correctly updated.

I purchased an import item on Takealot yesterday for R379. The money was taken from my account and delivery promised at a future date.

This morning I recieved a blunt email from Takealot informing me that the product is out of stock with the supplier, and therefore they are cancelling the order and giving me credit on Takealot for the R379.

Problem is - I just went onto Takealot and had a look at the same product, which is now listed for R889, with no indications that it is out of stock.

I purchased an item as advertised and indicated as available but when Takealot realised they would lose money on the deal they cancelled it an **** to me about the availability of the product, only to update the price on their website.

This is not acceptable, and if this had occurred in a brick-and-mortar store they would never have the option of following me out the store and taking back the item and giving me a voucher for the value.

This is ********* and further erodes my already crumbling trust (or lack thereof) in Takealot.
