Takealot is VIOLATION OF THE SA CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT!
I ordered some printing products for my home printers. After payments are made, a receive a notification that some of the orders were cancelled because of the supplier having no stock. No problem with this. Totally understood.
However, the problem arose when someone collected and signed for my order from the Ottery, Cape Town branch. After 3 weeks of calling and emailing, the only response from the miriad of emails from the difference Takealot consultants are that they investigating the matter.
Well, yesterday, I investigated myself via social media, contacted the person who signed for my goods, which I received and received an apology from the lady who collected and signed the goods erroneously. This took me 30 mins to investigate and make contact with the other person. This, while Takealot is STILL investigating the matter after 3 weeks.
I see from the other complaints on Hello Peter that they dont even have the decency and respect to respond to the comments. They are most definitely in breach of contract and I suggest we take class action against Takealot. Secondly, I see that on some products they dont do refunds on some goods- even if the goods are in their original packaging and unopened, which is AGAINST and in VIOLATION of and to the South African Consumer Protection Act.

I suspect Takealot WILL NOT even bother to reply to this compliant, which is why I cant wait for Amazon to enter the South African market. It will be interesting to see how they give Takealot a run for their money.
I can be found on Facebook: Dustin Davids for those interested in a class lawsuit against Takealot. Its time we stand up for our right.
