Takealot is **** Artists, This company is in trouble and they will **** you.

I bought a HP Laptop from Takealot via there website. R13999 after discount. I have been looking at Laptop specs for some time and asked ChatGpt.com for compare between laptops as I'm writing software which need little more powerful than the usual spec.

I collected the Laptop from the pickup point and when I got home I open the box and noticed the plastic rap was teared. Did not pay much attention as the rest looked fine. Switched the Laptop on and the TouchPad aka the mouse does not work. Got up look in the box if I missed anything. Removed the power supply and power cable. Nothing else in the box. Then got a wireless mouses from my Microsoft wireless keyboard. Plug it in, but start noticing this is not just the mouse issue. The keyboard back colour is light grey and the text is faded white. Making it difficult to read as at that point I need to switch the light on at 3:30pm in the afternoon to see the keys on the keyboard layout. Did not create an account on the machine. Put everything back in the box.

I did look on the add saw what was in the box, Laptop, Plower supply, mouse. I was a bit baffled as there was no space or dedicated slot in the box for a mouse and it was tightly packed design box. Not possible to fix a mouse. I was a bit disappointed as I wanted to start working with the laptop that evening. I needed it for a project as I'm a FreeLance Software Engineer.

I logged a return to Takealot and noted to them this is a out of box failure. TouchPad not working, Keyboard back colour grey / white text. I did not think of logging the mouse as takealot text are sometimes not correct and there was no way to fit a mouse in that packaging inside the box. If the add say white rabbit in the box and you know there is no way to fit a rabbit in the box you would not log it. I was just returning what was there.

I returned the laptop and add a MackBook Pro to checkout waiting for my credit to pay the difference on upgrade. In the mean time it got more busy plus it was weekend. Been 5 days now logged back onto Takealot. No credit. Message: my return was no successful, accessories not returned. I was like WHAT? I phoned them and returns could not help me. I looked on the add again and now there is a HP Grey laptop image with a black mouse.

I explained to the person in credits I returned everything that was received. I have cctv throughout my house. I send them a image snap and say I can supply a video of me unwrapping the machine. There was no mouse in the box and also no available space in the box.

They do not care They told me if I don't return the mouse then I need to fetch the laptop. Then next day I said. Fine I will pay for the mouse I did not get Can we just move on I need to buy a laptop I got work to do.

I looked on the add and search for that mouse description it is R425. The laptop was R13,999. I offered to pay for the mouse I did not receive, but they also don't want to do that.

I have see this before. Strip accessories and sell them separately. I can't proof it and have my suspicions, but how do you sell OEM assessories with zero packaging and when you buy a product that accessories is not there?

I then went to amazon.co.za and search for the same laptop and find it does not come with a mouse. I search for the same form factor laptops and none of them come with a mouse. I went back to the tTakealot site and could not find one other laptop which come with a mouse from HP.

I have been shopping with Takealot for over 15 years and explained that to them that they are treating me like a ********. It is now two weeks late and they are holding my money and not returning it.

I gave them today an choice. Give me a MacBook Max and I will not go to the press and Social Media. I lost R70k in two week due to there ****ming.

They just keep saying everytime I send an email, Sorry for your inconvenience we will escalate the matter, but nothing happens.

I can tell you now something, this company is *****ulent they remove assessories. From products, and sell it as OEM assessories. This is not the first.

I'm giving you the facts here, make up your own mind. They still have money and the laptop. I don't want the laptop I paid for a laptop that work.
