Takealot is a big company with absolutely no understanding of customer service - be warned they care only about their marketplace vendors and not the customer

I have gone from reviewing and reading an item I purchased on Takealot to now ending up reviewing Takealot itself. So here goes. I bought a handheld vacuum cleaner on Takealot a few days ago. The item arrived after two days and when I opened it, it looked visually quite different to the images on the site and had some functional differences as well. I figured I must have not noticed these on the site before, so I decided to charge it and see how it works. I charged it for a few hours and nothing, then overnight and still dead. So I went onto the site thinking it was probably an out of box failure and did an online return and selected to have my money refunded. Whilst doing this and seeing the pictures of the item and reading the description again thought I should probably review the item as to help my fellow shoppers out and warn them that this item looks and features are not what they seem when looking at it. After reviewing and giving the item 1 start as it did not even switch on or look like what I thought I was buying,my review was subsequently declined by Takealot saying I can only review the product, which is exactly what I was doing!! So thought maybe they got it wrong and submitted my review again explaining again that my review relates to the false advertising of the product and that it doesn't even work. Again my review was declined by Takealot, yet again saying I can only review the product. So here I am now reviewing the company that defends and protects its marketplace sellers over its customers. They are in it only for the money and are definitely not a trustable corporate citizen! When you stop people from giving an honest truthful and to the point review of a product purchased on a platform that bases it's reputation on that of its resellers it clearly makes you wonder and maybe understand why they are not keen on any negative reviews. So Takealot you have taken a customer who has bought a number of items in the past and have converted me into one that will NEVER EVER use your services again. This review is here as a warning to others, do not trust this company they do not act in your (the customers) best interest. Do not trust their products and do not trust their behaviour. I have never ever had a company treat me this way and the distasteful and uncaring manner in which they have handled this will leave A BITTER taste in my mouth for ever when I hear the word Takealot. An important message to you the shareholders and staff of this disgusting company, we all get things wrong, it is how you handle these situations that earn you customer loyalty not your products. We can get those anywhere! A final note. Every online shopper uses reviews to gauge the quality of the product and the reputation of the seller. This is something you have to do as there are so many sites selling ******* and when you start dictating what can and cannot be reviewed you have not only created an environment where we lose confidence in your products, but also in your company!
