TAKEALOT: IMPOSSIBLE TO APPEAL OR NEGOTIATE REFUSAL TO ACCEPT INCOMPATIBLE PRINTER CARTRIDGES
On 21 February 2020 I ordered two Samsung 101S Black Toner Cartridges for my Samsung SCX-3405FW 3-in-1 Mono Printer from Takealot
The order number is ***5. Each printer was charged R799.00 and the total payment for the two toners was R1598.00. See attached copy of order.
I did not use the toner cartridges until 17 March 2020, when the existing toner in my printer was depleted.
When I inserted one of the cartridges, it was rejected and the message from the printer was that is incompatible. It was only inserted into the printer, and not a single page could be printed from it.
I then compared the cartridge with the one depleted cartridge, it was clear that they look quite alike, but on closer inspection there was a clear difference.
Although Takealot has a policy of not accepting my request for a repayment, I think that it is very unfair to expect me to dish up R1598 for something I cannot use.
Firstly, their supplier is providing them with incompatible and unsuitable goods for the printer it is supposed to accommodate; and
Secondly their good name is also being compromised for selling goods that are not usable by your clients, and then expecting them me to pay up and smile R1598.
I am willing to negotiate with Takelaot to exchange the cartridges for a new HP Laser 135a 3-in-1 Mono laser printer. I am quite willing to top up the difference.
I am a regular client and expect a little sympathy from Takelaot.
The problem is that I find it impossible to comunicate with them since there is no provision in their complaints/return/refund option to state my case
