Takealot have disappointed mr
Normally I would sing the praises of takealot.com until my experience with them today. On Sunday the 1st of November I placed an order for an XBox360 game COD Modern Warfare at the price of R189. My son is turning 10 in early December and it's a game he really wants. When placing the order I decided to order a few other items to make up the free delivery and to fill some Christmas gifts for both my sons. On Tuesday the 3rd of November I received an email to say that my order for the game has been canceled. As soon as I read it at I tried calling them. This was at 17:08 to find out the reason for cancelation. A voice recording came up saying that they can only help between 8am and 6pm. Already I am irritated because there is no way of getting hold of them during the specified times. I called again the next day and eventually got through to an agent. I requested the reason for cancelation as according to their site the game was still available. The agent said that she would escalate this but it looks like it might just be a shipping time issue. I then told her that I'm fine with it if it took longer than usual as my son really wants the Game. She said she would get back to me. She then emailed me confirmation that she had escalated the issue. Today after not hearing anything back from her I sent her a response mail asking for feedback. Her response was that the shipping days will take very long so I confirmed via return mail that I accept the delay as long as I get the Game. I was then told that as the order has already been canceled that I should reorder to which I answered that I don't want to pay the extra shipping fee. The agent then said that she would sort out the shipping fee by way of discount on my order or refund if I do pay to which I responded and asked if it would not be better if I cancel the full order then reorder the full order again. Since I hadn't received a response to this I went into my profile to go and order just the game as she had initially requested, only to see the game had increased from R189 to R339. Whilst I understand that takealot can not control their suppliers pricing and shipping surely I should have a say before they cancel my order? And since I ordered and paid for the item at R189 surely I should get it at that price. I find this very sneaky and under-handed and if takealot use the excuse that it is the supplier that can change the pricing then I say to Takealot that they should train their suppliers in business etiquette. Once I am done with my review on hello Peter I will be logging a complaint with the CPA too. It's not not about the money it's about business ethics. It saddens me that Takealot have not maintained their great standard
