Takealot has removed contact with customer service

Takealot used to be good, but service has really gone down the drain these last 18 months. It's like someone decided to reinvent the wheel, and got a square. My newest gripe is that it's almost impossible to contact Takealot anymore. Customer Service has been replace with a general FAQ page, which has no space for special queries or problems. When one does have a specific issue, there's no way to deal with it. Social media is inadequate.

Usually I use my Tymebank Debit Card for Takealot payments. Never had a problem, except on Wednesday afternoon, when the transaction failed twice, with no reason given. There's no problem with my card - it worked earlier that day, it's not blocked, there's enough money, etc. I then used an ABSA card, which is only for emergencies, in order to complete the transaction successfully. I noted the two banks used different security systems, so maybe there was a problem on Takealot's side.

Do you think you can enquire from Takealot what went wrong? NO! There's no way to contact them about payments or get technical support, and the social media team give limited answers and can't address the problem.

For a long time, Takealot had no real competition. This has changed - Amazon is coming. Does Takealot up its game? No, they decide to cut corners with customer service to maximise profits. Well, either you improve access to proper service, or you are going to lose big time.

I can't believe it's impossible to contact a company in an easy way to enquire why a payment method suddenly couldn't work. Pathetic.
