Takealot has NO customer service.

Takealot are running a promotion at the moment, when you go onto their app you get to spin the wheel and receive a discount. The only problem is that when it comes tme to checkout, there is nowhere for you to enter the coupon code for your discount.

I received a code for R500 off my purchase, valid for the day I got it. Itried to complete my purchase straight away, but as I said above, there was nowhere for me to enter the coupon code. I mailed them and was told it would be escalated. I then received another code which also did not work.

I mailed the agent who had been assigned to resolve my complaint and was told that I should have taken screenshots so that I had proof and that he is closing the complaint.

Before I received a response to my complaint, I went onto the app again and spun the wheel again. This time I got R100 off, but again nowhere to enter the code. My partner went also tried on his phone and as he was about to spin the wheel disappeared.

Below is the comment I sent to Takealot:

I found the response to be accusatory and unhelpful. My original issue was not resolved and the fact that the same thing happened the next time that I went onto the Takealot app tells me that this is a ****. The voucher code that I was supp**** with to rectify the issue did not work and when I informed your agent (Imaan A.), I was told that I should have taken screenshots so that I had proof. If I was ever going to use Takealot again, which is highly unlikely, I will make sure that I take screenshots every step of the way, so I have proof of how useless this company is. I take exception to being made to feel that I am dishonest. I have put a report on Hello Peter and I hope that it reaches as many people as possible. Rather don't offer these promotions if they are not going to work, as it leaves your customers frustrated and angry. Perhaps your staff also need some training in how to deal with customers and reply to emails in a less accusatory way. I have always believed in supporting local business, but I have had much better service from Amazon an so I will take my business there.

My two emails: Any further info you can give us ...: What's the point of spinning a wheel, getting a promo code for R500 off to be used within a day, and when you go to pay, having nowhere to enter the promo code????? Makes me want to never buy from Takealot again!!!!!

I once again tried the voucher and it did not work. I spun the wheel again and got R100 off and again, nowhere to enter the code. My partner went onto your app, the wheel appeared and as he went to spin it, it disappeared. I am at the point of going onto Hello Peter and letting everyone know that this is a ****. I expect so much more from Takealot. I prefer to support South African businesses, but maybe it is time to rather spend my money at Amazon.

Maybe local is not lekker!
