TAKEALOT HAS IMPUNITY ON DAMAGING ANYTHING THEY SEND BACK TO YOU!
PROBLEM:
A DVD I had returned because I'd inadvertently ordered two of the same title was sent back by takealot because I had removed the cellophane wrapping before realising I had received two copies. Which I understand and accept, no problem. I decided it was my fault for not counting the number of copies of each title before opening them and that I would simply give away the extra copy.
BUT the returned copy was sent back to me scratched and dirty! I had wrapped the DVD carefully when I returned it in a specially bought padded envelope with bubble wrap between cases. I got this one from takealot rattling loose in a box and the DVD was loose inside its case too. Both the case and the DVD were dirty inside and the DVD is scratched very badly. I cannot give this to anybody - it has been rendered worthless by takealot.
TAKEALOT'S RESPONSE:
"Unfortunately, there is not much that we can do on our side, as just to follow our process and policy, where the item was returned, unsealed and after seven(7)days.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused."
It seems that, if a customer returns something and takealot refuses the return, takealot can do whatever they want with the item before sending it back, with impunity. The customer has no recourse, whether takealot has dragged it through the mud, driven over it with a car, whatever.
So noted.
