Takealot gives empty promises

My daughter purchased getup Cruze walking pad from Takealot. The machine is operated by remote control. After 1 week of use the remote stopped functioning. We changed batteries but still did not function. We requested a return. Takealot refused citing that the purchase had a non return policy which we were not aware of on purchase. Instead they have fobbed us off to the manufacturer. We believe that all products purchased and are faulty within one week should be returnable. Takealot is responsible and needs to refund or exchange the machine. I will be taking this further - I have time on my hands. And I am going to boycott the site!
