Takealot - False Advertising

<p>On the morning of 3 April 2017, I received the Takealot Daily deals email & was very interested in the Lee Cooper RDLC 3 piece luggage set advertised for R549. The list price was indicated as R999 so it was a good saving.</p> <p> </p> <p>When I clicked on the deal to purchase the item, the price displayed was R1 999. This was R1 000 more than even the list price indicated & it still reflected as a Daily Deal. I contacted Takealot to explain what had happened and:</p> <p>- Their first reply was that they would check woth their Buyer.</p> <p>- The second reply was that the deal was sold out, even though I provided proof from the Takealot website that it was still available & advertised as a Daily Deal. I know how their Daily Deals work and there was absolutley no sold out indicator. </p> <p>- The third reply was that the product was incorreclty priced but I have proof of it being advertised at R549 and requested that it be sold ot me at that price.</p> <p>- Fourth reply, they no longer have stock of the item, even though this morning (4 Paril 2017), there is plenty of stock available in all colours.</p> <p> </p> <p>I am so annoyed as this is false advertising on Takealot's side & I have all the proof and original email which reflects the product been advertised for R549 with a listing price of R999. Then a few minutes later the price changed to R1 999 and later the afternoon, the price changed for a 3rd time to R2 395.</p> <p> </p> <p>Takelot is absolutely unprofessional & their call centre staff has to be ups****ed in sticking to one story & reading the facts. Takealot are False Advertisers!</p> <p> </p>
