Takealot False Adverti*****t

Takealot advertised a Philips Shaver S5510/45 on their brochure accompanying a parcel I have recently purchased. The delivery was on th 12th of July 2018. I saw the shaver was being advertised at 1299 and immediately went onto their site to make the purchase. I then saw that the price is 1899 so I placed the product in my cart and immediately opened a query in this regard. The price shown on the brochure was until 15 of July 2018 which already lapsed and I still received NO reply from this query I logged on their site. on the 19th of July I phoned in and spoke to a Sivo whom took down my details and promised to send me an email so I can reply with a photo of the item on the brochure showing the price of 1299. I never received the email. This is the second time I have to tolerate this kind of laid back behavior. Apart from this issue the parcel I received, accompanied by the brochure in question, was also defective.

This is unacceptable and I am going to log a complaint with the Onbud as well for false advertising under the Consumer Protection Act 2008 Section 30. I was not informed that this price was a mistake as stipulated by Consumer Protection Act 2008 Section 23.
