Takealot estimated delivery dates change after payment is made

I have ordered from takealot for the second time in two weeks and had the same disappointing experience on both occasions. After checking the ‘in stock’ and ‘will I get it before Christmas’ links it showed that I would receive my almost R2600.00 order before Christmas. When I proceeded to the checkout the estimated delivery date came up as Thursday the 20th of December. I understand that an estimate is not a guaranteed delivery date but after I had made payment the delivery date all of a sudden changed to the 17th of January 2019. These are Christmas presents that I ordered and now I will only receive them next year?! If I knew that I would never have gone through with the order. This is a poor show and this time I won’t be waiting for a response that I will never get from the complaint I sent to takealot (which is what happened with my previous order), I will be seeking advise from the National Consumer Commission. If you’re looking for a convenient easy way to shop for Christmas gifts you won’t get it from takealot, rather just go to the packed shopping malls etc, it’s better than being given false information which lead you to purchase items with no intention of fulfilling the estimated delivery date. One or two days difference would have still been acceptable but for the date to change to almost six weeks later is absolutely ridiculous and basically *******!!!
